Still Better

I have had a lovely day. A super duper day. The weather was good. Both my humans were at home with me. AND, there was no vacuum cleaner or dusters! Oh I am such a happy little Squeak.

We were up a wee bit earlier than planned 'cos the postie man had a parcel that my MH had to sign for, so we just stayed up as it was a good day. We had our breakfast and after I had drinked up the last of my MH's milk I went out to play while she tidied up a bit and then she came out to find me and we played in my garden for a while before I toddled off into the fields to be on my own for a while.

A while later, I saw the old dear coming out again to hang up some washing and I ran right across the field, straight through the fence without even slowing down and ran straight up the clothes pole. Now, I must tell you that as all this was happening, my poor old MH was bending down getting something out of the wash basket, so she didn't see me until she stood up again and there was me at the top of the clothes pole. Oh dear, she nearly falled down on the grass, but then she just giggled and I must say I was relieved!

We left the grass and went round to the garden at the front of my house where I helped my MH pick up some more weeds and sometimes I would sit and watch her while other times I would run and take a ginormous jump into the middle of the pampas grass and that made her laugh especially as I had timed one of my more spectacular jumps just as my DH was coming into view and he just shooked his head and then we all laughed.

That took us quite a while and then when the old dear went inside, I decided to have a wander through another fence to have a chat to some of my little cow friends. They had been watching us very closely through the fence, and to be quite honest, at one point I was a wee bit frightened but I just snuggled in beside my MH and I was fine 'cos she told me the cows were just being nosey and they wouldn't hurt me, so that was much better.

I went away for a very long walk in the afternoon and just arrived home in time for a short snooze and then it was dinner time. so you can see why my day has been so good and it look as though my night time might be even better.

Oh yes, I am a very happy little Squeak.

Much Better

Yes, my day has been much better. My MH kept her promise and stayed home with me today and gave me cuddles as often as I wanted, and I wanted lots 'cos I had two days worth to catch up on. I am nearly there!

The alarm in my house went off this morning at half past seven o'clock which is quite unusual in my house, but, as I told you yesterday,my DH was going to the Dounby Show with the Cat Shop people and he needed to get the first boat. Me and my MH said hello to him and then we went back to sleep for another wee while.

When we did get up, we sat on the couch for a while and my MH stroked me and talked to me and then I went out to play while she did some hoovering but every now and then, I would nip in through the window and find her wherever she was so that I could get a cuddle. I managed to catch her just as she was making the beds and she let me play my favourite game of hide and seek under the duvet. I just love that game and my MH knows that.

We went outside in the afternoon when the sun came out and I helped the old dear do some weeding and that was good fun too 'cos when she threw some of the little weeds towards the bucket, I chased after them and that made her giggle, but I now know that she doesn't want them back so I just jump on them and then run back to where my MH is.

So we have had a very good day and the weekend is going to be good too 'cos both my humans will be at home and I will have plenty of attention whenever I need it.

Oh, goody!

Well .....

....if I had no news for you yesterday, I have even less for you today 'cos BOTH my humans went away to leave me all alone, so I can't tell you what I did.

In fact, there was only one human person left on my little island to look after all us animals 'cos everybody went over to Stromness to have a lunch and our little island was nearly empty. It was lovely and quiet and if I had known how to tell the time I might have taken a wee wander down to Button's house to have a wee pussy cat chat, but I was frightened that my humans might have been back before I got home again, so I didn't go. I just played in my garden instead until I saw my MH's little Kangaroo car bouncing up the road!

I got a great big cuddle and then when she put all her messages away she lifted me up onto her knee as we sat on the couch and she told me I would be the centre of her world tomorrow, so that made me happy. Tomorrow is the Dounby Show where there are lots of stalls and the farmers show off all their animals and the Cat Shop is going to be there so my DH is helping them, but me and my MH are staying home together and I am looking forward to getting spoiled.

I am so, so worth it!

No News

I don't have any news for you at all today 'cos my dear old MH has been away to Stromness so she doesn't know what I have been doing. Mind you, I didn't do very much. I just played in my garden and waited till she comed home to me again, but I did help my DH to make some spaghetti bolognaise for their dinner and because I was so very good, he gived me a wee drop of mince which I gobbled up very quickly.

I was quite happy to be able to have a bit of an easy day because I stayed out very late last night and it was nearly three o'clock this morning when I wandered home and nipped in through the open window. It was a fine night and there was so much for me to do and it took me all that time. I could have stayed out longer, I think, but I was beginning to feel a bit tired and just a little bit peckish so I knew it was hometime.

I nipped into the bedroom and up on to the bed beside my MH, just to let her know I was home and that I was fine. Well, that's my side of the story which makes me look good, but the truth was that I needed her to feed me, so I just gave her one of my 'I could take a wee bite to eat if you felt like getting up' looks which work every single time. Putty in my paws! It never fails.

I have a couple of pictures for you which the old dear took at the weekend and these ones show you how I keep my adorable little self all lovely and clean. I hope you like them.

It has been a bit windy today but it is better tonight. Sometimes that happens on my little island. The days are not very good, but the nights are lovely and I did wonder if my little weather man friend was doing that just for me, but it's just a thought!

Oh Dear

It seems that we can only get one good day and then we have more rain. I get all excited on the good day thinking that it will last for a long time and then when I waken up the next morning and run to look out of the window, it is raining and I am all sad! Boo

My DH went away to the Cat Shop and me and my MH sat on the couch for a while and worked out all the things that we were going to do with our day, but we knew it would need to be things inside my house, but that was OK 'cos as you know, it is 'Housework Monday' Chez Squeak, so I just found a comfortable spot out of the way of the vacuum cleaner and I watched as the Boss made my house all clean again.

I did manage a couple of visits into the fields when the rain went off and because my MH had left the window open, I could get inside before I got too wet, which is more that I did last night. As usual, I saw my MH into her little bed and when she put out her light, I asked my DH to please let me out to play, and oft I went.

Now, when I went outside it was dry, so I headed off quite a long way from my house and I was having a great time finding new smells when suddenly the rain came on really, really hard and there was nowhere for me to shelter so I just had to go home and by the time I got there and attracted the old boy's attention I was ringing. Ding, dong Squeak! Hee hee

When my DH opened the door for me, I decided that my MH would like to see how wet I was, so I ran right past the old boy who was looking for a towel to dry me, and I jumped up onto the bed and sort of dripped a wee bit onto my MH and that wakened her up --- very quickly!! Oops. But she just smiled and then tooked the towel off my DH and she made me all dry again. Then she had to take another towel to dry herself off. Sorry, MH.

I thought you might like to see some pictures from yesterday when I was out playing. You will see that they are action shots and the first one is of me getting down from the little wall at my door and the other one is when I had just comed down from being up the clothes pole and you can almost see the speed I am going at.

Faster that the speed of light. That's me!

But a good Sunday

I am liking these days. My little weather man friend has finally managed to fix the weather a wee bit so that it is not raining all the time and so I have been out playing quite a lot, and my humans have been outside with me nearly all of today which has been super duper.

I had a rather unexpected trip out last night and my humans thought it was quite funny. I was lying on my MH's knee while she was sitting on the couch and I was having a lovely sleep, when the old dear got very sneaky and stuck my de-flea and de-worm stuff on me! Now, you all know how much I do not like this, so in a flash I was down on the floor then up onto the window sill and out of the window! Just like a streak of lightening! Mr. Bolt, the athlete would have been very proud of me, I can tell you. My DH thought I might have left home for good, but my MH told him I would be back 'cos I hadn't taken any food or biscuits with me, and sure enough, about an hour later, my adorable little tummy told me it was running on empty and so I jumped back in the window and forgave her!

We have all had a good day today and the old dear is very pleased with herself 'cos she got the grass cut and all my cow friends are very happy with her too 'cos she emptied the grass bag into the field and they were able to eat it all up and they told me it was very good, so we are all very pleased with ourselves.

I, of course, was out supervising and made sure my grass was cut to my liking,--- which it was-- and then I lay down on the chips in front of my kitchen and I discovered that stones don't make very comfortable pillows. But I did manage to have a wee siesta in the sun until the old dear was finished and ready to come and sit on the bench so that I could go and sit on her.

Well, she is a bit softer that all those chips! And I am quite a delicate little Squeak! :-))

A Very Strange Saturday

.... but don't worry, it was only the weather that made it strange. When we all got up and after I had eaten up all my breakfast my MH left the door open for me and said it was going to be a lovely day and if it stayed like that she would come out into the garden with me and then she would clean her windows and cut the grass and my DH said that he would do some strimming so that my garden looked lovely again. So, that was the first part of the day sorted out and oft I went to have a play before all the serious work started. And the guess what happened? Yep, the rain came on and I had to rush in before I was soaked and my dear old MH never got the grass cut or the windows washed, although the rain sort of washed them for her.

Between you and me, dear friends, i think my DH has been learning my rain dance 'cos he didn't really want to do the strimming. He wanted to watch football on my television instead! I think I will have a quiet word with him because we can't have just anybody getting the steps to my rain dance, can we?

I had a very good afternoon though 'cos the Boss decided to do some writing and that meant she was sitting down and when she is sitting down, there is a knee for me to lie on and that's just what I did. Sometimes I do feel sorry for the old dear because she gets herself into some very odd shapes when she is writing or working on her computer and I am lying beside her. She tries not to disturb me and work round me, but sometimes it is quite hard and she does make lots of mistakes. I know this 'cos she is a 'tutter' and when she makes a mistake I can hear her tutting but I just ignore it 'cos I like being on her knee or cuddled up beside her and I know she likes it too.

I have made my plans for tonight but whether they work out or not is really up to the weather. Right now the sun is shining and it is a very lovely night and if it stays like that I shall be going out to play once I have had my snooze, but if the rain comes on again, then I shall just sit on my window sill and watch the outside until it is good enough for me to venture out.

I hope it stays fine as I am needing to use up some of my energy and I need to see how all my little animal friends are getting on, so my adorable little paws are crossed and I hope it stays like this, but I will tell you tomorrow. I hope you are having a good weekend too.
