A Better Day

I was a little concerned when I wakened up this morning 'cos I was full of energy and needed to be outside so I was worried in case it might be a rotten day, but it wasn't too bad at all. It was a wee bit damp but not windy so I gobbled up my breakfast and nipped out of the window to see what was happening in my world.

I had a good wander round the fields and I liked it 'cos I wasn't getting winded on and I wasn't cold. I had a wee chat to the cows that are in the field in front of my house and then when I went back inside I was just in time for my little drop of milk. Perfect timing as usual!

The rest of my day was just as perfect. My DH was away to Stromness but my MH was here with me and when she was busy, I had a wee lie down and just waited until she was finished although every now and then she would come and find me and give me a wee cuddle, and sometimes we even played for a while, so it was all good fun and I liked it.


I have been out to play quite a lot tonight and I will no doubt be going outside a few times more before bedtime.

Another Lazy Sunday

Sunday Chez Squeak is a lazy day and we all have a rest to make us fit for the week ahead and today was no exception. Me and my MH were up first and while she was having her breakfast, the old dear watched Jessica solving another murder and I sat on her knee and waited for my little drop of milk and then scooted outside.

I just had a little scoot 'cos it was cold and quite windy, and to be honest there isn't very much for me to do outside now and I know that when I come home there is always a knee for me to sit on or somebody to play with me so I am happier inside now.

When my DH got up he watched the football and then we all watched as Andy won his tennis match, although the old dear was quite nervous at a couple of points, but he did it. Well done Andy!

I stayed out quite late last night and my MH was quite worried about me 'cos it wasn't a very good night, but I was perfectly safe and when I decided to go back home, I just thumped my adorable little paw on the window and my DH let me in. My MH was already in bed, so I had a wee biscuit and then snuggled in beside her and in a wee while I was as cosy as toast and we both had a very good sleep.

I have had a very good day and have had some wee trips outside but lots of plays inside so my Sunday has been very good and I hope you have had a good day too.

What a Day

I nipped outside as soon as I had finished my breakfast and got the shock of my life when I felt how cold it was. Boy it was freezing! I had a run down to the edge of my path and scooted back inside again, and I'm afraid it has been like that all day. It has been wet and windy and very, very cold. Winter is here.

I sat with my MH lots of time and that kept us both cosy, but then she had to go out to do crafty things with her friends, but she wanted to be back quickly to watch Andy's tennis match 'cos she was hoping he would become number one. A while later, she comed back in and she was cold, but when my DH told her the very good news about Andy, she was happy and gived me a big cuddle which warmed her up again.

I was a wee bit frightened tonight 'cos I heard lots and lots of bangs and I didn't want to go out 'cos I didn't know what it was but then the old dear told me that people were blowing up somebody called Guy Fawkes and he was making a big noise about it, so I was a bit happier. I am not sure if that is the right story 'cos I was watching Strictly at the time and maybe didn't listen properly, but maybe you will know all about it anyway.

If they have stopped blowing him up and making big loud noises before my bedtime, I will probably go outside for a wee while. I will just need to wait and see what is happening.

My Favourite Day

You all know that I am a very happy little puss and always have lots of good times in my house. I only have to ask, and my humans will play with me whenever I feel like it--- and I do like playing. However, Friday has got to be my very favourite day 'cos it is string day and I love that.

And today was no exception. In fact it was even better 'cos my MH had ordered lots of boxes and they ALL comed with string! I think the people in the shops know all about me and send string to keep me happy.

So, while my MH was putting away all the food things, me and my DH played in the kitchen with the string and it was super fun, but then he had to help her, so I just played all by myself and I made them both laugh when I carried the string into our bedroom and played there for a while.

I watched while my humans were being busy, but as soon as my MH was finished, I did my silly run which tells her I want to play and I scooted into the bedroom and when she comed in, I was holding the string ready for us to play again and she told me I was a very clever puss. But I knew that already!

I have had a very good day and I have also been outside quite a lot, but it is cold and wet and windy so I don't stay out too long. I think winter is definitely here and I am going to need lots of warming-me-up cuddles now.

But I am not complaining! :-))

I think...

..... I will have to ask my MH to get me a wee raincoat 'cos I am getting a tad fed-up getting soaking wet every time I go out. I think I might look rather fetching in a multi colored little mac and it would also mean that my humans would be able to find me in the dark. A plan, or what?

I have been out a lot of times today and sometimes I managed to get back home before the rain catched me, but another time I was absolutely ringing and my MH needed a ginormous towel to make me dry again. The only problem with a little coat is that if I am not wet when I go home, I wouldn't get cuddled dry again. Hmm. More thought needed, methinks.

I was out very late last night and I enjoyed myself. My DH was tired 'cos he had been at the Shop and so when he went to bed, he just left the window open for me, but my MH stayed wakened until I came home and she gave me a wee biscuit and shut the window before we snuggled down for a good sleep.

I haven't done very much today but I have helped my humans and have had a few little naps in between getting wet, but I have had a good day. I am getting into winter mode now which means that I am more of an indoor cat than in the summer, but there is always a human to help me not get fed up or bored.

And that's all I need.

Still Very Quiet

It is taking me a wee while to get used to it not being summer and it seems that every time I go out just now I get soaking wet. My little birdie friends have all gone away and soon the cows will be going inside for the winter, so there is nothing much for me to do when I go out, but I still need to be outside.

My humans know that I am a bit unsettled so they keep talking to me and stroking me and every time I ask my MH to play, she does 'cos she knows I need to use up all my energy, but it's not the same. I love it when she plays with me, but I still need to get lots of fresh air.

It is getting dark very early now on my little island and my MH closes the curtains before we have had our dinner and then she has to open one again to let me sit on the window sill and decide when I want to go out.I like the dark and go outside every single night and if I feel like it I don't come home again until it is very late and sometimes my MH gets worried about me, but so far I have always been safe.

I have managed to get myself soaking wet twice this afternoon and my MH says I will need to be careful that I don't shrink, but as soon as they cuddle me dry again, I am back to my normal, adorable size! Hee hee

Just Normal

That's what my day was and that was just fine. My DH was home and I helped him do his bits of work while my MH was doing some housework but I wandered to where she was every wee while and she was always pleased to see me.

I got my wee drop of milk in my bed this morning and I think I would like that every morning. I was having a little rest 'cos I had been outside quite early and when my MH finished her breakfast, she came and found me and gave me my milk and I lapped it all up and then went back to sleep.

Our friend M. came into my house in the afternoon with a parcel for the old dear and I sat beside him for a while. He doesn't really like puss cats so I am very careful not to upset him but he did stroke me when I sat on the arm of his chair, so maybe he will like me one day. I hope so.

Nothing very exciting happened today. The weather hasn't been very good but still I ventured outside and I did get wet quite a few times, but as usual I got cuddled dry again and I like that. I played with my humans too and we had good fun so although it hasn't been very exciting, it has been good.
