Just Thinking.....

.... it is a very good job that I am unshrinkable 'cos I have been out in so much rain since last night that if I did shrink when I got wet, I would just be a tiny, tiny, little black and white puss by now. I would still be adorable of course, but you would hardly be able to see me at all. I know that would be heartbreaking to my humans and to all the people who just love me millions.

There was a lot of rain last night after my dear old MH went off to her little bed, but I needed out so I braved the weather and off I went. There aren't very many places for me to shelter as the nice farmer man next door has closed his big shed, so I can't go in there and of course my humans look up the gym and the greenhouse, so that's no use to me either. I did have a little brain wave. At least, it was a brain wave until I thought about it and then I decided maybe it wasn't such a brilliant idea after all. Do you want to know what it was? Yes? Oh goody. I thought I could find some shelter if I stood underneath one of the Daisys 'cos they are much bigger than me and they would keep the rain from hitting my little body, but then I noticed the 'stuff' that comes out of their -- em-- back end bits, and I decided that it would not be very clever to be that close to all that smelly stuff. So I just got wet. Very wet. Lots of times.

However as soon as I went home, I just stood on the chair until one of my humans went and got a big towel and cuddled me dry again and it was lovely. In fact it was the very bestest bit of getting wet and I liked it so much I think I will keep doing it. Oh yes! It is still raining but after I have had my after dinner snooze, I shall disappear out of the window and go out to play even if it is wet. I will let you know.

I have had another good day with my MH as the old boy was at the Cat Shop. She didn't have too much work to do so I spent a lot of time on her knee until we went into the gym and today I just sat on the chair and watched her making her little legs do their exercises, but when she was finished, I had more good fun. You see, when she is exercising, she puts on her headphones and listens to her music, but sometimes she tries to sing when she is walking and I just listen quietly and giggle a wee bit when she runs out of breath, but then when she is finished, the fun begins for me. She puts her headphones in a wee case and as she is winding them into it, the end hangs down and I spend ages trying to catch it. I start on the floor, then jump up on the chair and today I even managed to balance on the arm of the chair until eventually she managed to close the little box. It was brilliant fun though, and I did make her laugh again and that's always good.

When we went inside, I decided to have a sleep on my bed and she tooked this picture for you and if you look very closely at it you might notice something. My MH puts a blanket on top of the duvet for me but it hasn't dawned on her that I don't lie on it! Oh dear. Please don't tell her though as she might be a wee bit upset, and what she doesn't know won't hurt her. Will it? No!

Ding Dong Puss

It hasn't been a very good day outside but it has been a crackin' day inside my house. It started off with me helping my MH to change the sheets and the duvet covers and you all know that is my very favourite game and I had fantastic time playing with the Boss. When she was taking the sheets off, I sat on the top and slided down the bed when she pulled me and it was just super, but that wasn't the best bit. Oh no. The VERY best bit is when she tries to put the new duvet cover on and at the same time trying to keep me from climbing inside.

Oh, picture the scene, dear friends. Yours truly sitting on the bed looking angelic and MH thinking what a good puss I am. MH then throws duvet on to the bed and yours truly fights my way out from under it to sit on the top. MH gets duvet cover and spreads in on the bed ready to try stuffing said duvet into it but before she gets it even half way in, a certain little (adorable) little puss is already inside and up at the very top of the duvet cover. MH smiles and rolls up the cover to find me and take me out. Then she sits me on the ottoman and tries again and guess what happens? Yep, exactly the very same thing again. I managed to hide up at the top of the duvet cover about three times before the poor old thing managed, but she was still smiling 'cos it was very funny. oh, I loved it and it made me such a very happy little Squeak.

But the good fun didn't stop there 'cos she shouted for my DH to come and help her to take all the soft toys off the top of the wardrobes so she could clean up there too. There are MILLIONS of animals toys like a huge teddy bear and a huger hippo as well as lots of ducks and puffins and lovely soft things. These all landed on the bed while my MH was cleaning them and my DH was cleaning the top of the wardrobe and what was I doing? I was playing with all the toys! I rubbed up against them and sniffed them and purred at them and that was great fun too. I was so overcome with happiness that I had to go and have a wee lie down, but as there was no room on my bed, I just went into my wee hoose.

I had a long sleep and then I asked my DH to open the window to let me out to play and off I went to see the Daisys and I told them all about my afternoon and I am certain I saw them smile although I'm not too sure they understood it all 'cos they won't know what a duvet is, will they? I shall ask them tonight.

I was just in the middle of a deep and meaningful conversation with them when the rain came on really, really heavy and I had to run home as fast as these adorable little legs could go, but even running my very fastest, I was still 'ringing' by the time I got to the window and banged on it until my DH saw me and let me in.

'Oh, you are soaking' says he to me. 'I know. It's pouring with rain!' says I to him 'Please make me dry.' And he did. He got a big towel and dried me until I was purring happily again and that made him happy too, so he went and told my MH what he had done and she smiled 'cos she was very pleased with him.

So, that has been my very good day which I have just loved millions and I hope your day has been good too.

Another Monday

But quite a nice Monday. Not nice enough for the lawn mower though as there was some rain so the grass is too wet and besides that, the mower still won't start. Oh I am beside myself with happiness!

My DH skipped away to the Cat Shop and me and my MH sat on the couch for a while as she had her breakfast and then I had the last wee drop of milk in her dish which I just love. Now here's problem for you. Nearly every morning, my MH has some muesli with fruit and milk and I love the last of the milk, but if she is going to have her lunch in the town then she just has some corn flakes and when she gives me the milk I don't like it and we can't work out what the difference is. I think we shall have to do a series of experiments to satisfy this adorable little puss cat's curiosity. Unless you have any ideas?

As it was Monday, the vacuum cleaner and dusters all came out to play in my house, so I lay on the back of my couch well out of harm's way and just watched her, but every now and then I would nip outside to see what was happening and to have a word with the Daisys who are both very fine. My MH had quite an easy day so she had lots of time for me and we sat on the couch for a while and just chatted, but I did get into a wee bit of trouble I'm afraid. She is still making her friendship bracelets and to get them ready she has to take out some embroidery threads and then cut sixteen bits all the same size. OK? Now, when there are threads all dangling in front of one, what is a mischievous little puss supposed to do? OK, OK. I know I am supposed to sit and watch, but you all know how much I like to help and I am very much a 'paws on' type of puss, if you know what I mean! So every time a bit of thread wafted my way I tried to grab it and the old dear was beginning to get a wee bit annoyed, but I gave her one of my 'butter wouldn't melt' looks and she was putty in my paws, although there wasn't much room 'cos they were full of threads! Hee hee! It was good fun though and I can't wait until she has to do another one. I shall help her, of course.

Later on in the afternoon, we went into the gym and once I had seen that her little legs were busy on the treadmill, I nipped through the fence and played in the field until she was all finished and then we played in the garden for a while until my DH came driving home again. So it has been a good Monday so far and I am now having a snooze in my wee hoose until it is time to go out to play later on.It looks as though it is going to be a fine night so I will probably stay out until it is late time 'cos that's when I just love being out.

There are more and more birdies coming back to my little island and I saw a lovely curlew today, but so far there are no pesky swallows to annoy me although I know they will be coming for their holidays soon. I do like them but not when they are dive bombing me.

Naughty swallows!

Very Odd

Sometimes I just do not understand my humans at all but I can generally work out what is behind their funny little ways. However, last night really flummoxed me.

Shall I explain? Of course I shall. Well, as I told you yesterday, the lawn mowing plan just didn't work out to my MH's satisfaction and the poor old dear was a bit sad about that and it took quite a lot of cuddles and purrs from yours truly to cheer her up again and then evening started just like any other one with us all sitting together watching the television or reading, or in my case, purring on a knee.

Then about ten o'clock my MH went away to bed and I did think it was very early for her, but I cuddled in for a while anyway until she was asleep and then I nipped outside for a while expecting to hear the old boy whistling for me, but I didn't and I was a tad bemused. I wandered home and he let me in and I snuggled up beside my MH for a while, but I noticed that my DH was still up so I asked if I could go out again and he let me. I was becoming more and more confused but then when I went back in, I stopped dead in my tracks, 'cos there sitting on the couch in the middle of the night time was my MH! That is unheard of and I was bemused to say the least. She realised I was becoming a bit worried so she explained they wanted to see a boxing match which was on very late and by the time it was all finished and we were all back in bed again, I think the rest of the world were getting up! It was day light time, dear friends, but I slept anyway.

Needless to say, we have had a very quiet day and as it has been quite windy and then wet, there was no chance of the lawn mower appearing. Yippee. Me and my MH played our game where I hided under all the clothes when she was making the bed and she called it 'Hide and Squeak' 'cos I burrow under the clothes and lie so very still and she can't find me but then she calls for me and I let her find me and it is just the goodest fun, although I am afraid my little wagger hasn't learned to play it properly. I lie very still and try not to move but as soon as MH speaks, my little wagger gets excited and thumps up and down and she knows where I am. I keep trying to make it stay still, but I am afraid I have failed. It doesn't matter though, does it?

I have a feeling we will all be in bed very early tonight as we are a bit tired and my DH has to get up quite early to go to the Cat Shop, but we have had a good day and I hope you have had too.

Good News and Bad News

Well, it was good news for me and bad news for my poor old MH. I wonder if you can possibly guess what I am wittering on about? First of all, 'wittering' is my word for the week. I have just discovered it and I love it, so I shall witter for a long time, methinks. Anyway, I digress. What a clever puss I am, wittering AND digressing.

Anyway, it is Spring and in Spring the grass starts to grow and when the grass starts to grow my MH has to cut it and in order to cut it she has to use the awful lawn mower and today was the first day of grass cutting and she asked my DH to get the mower out and start it for her. That was the bad news. I was not happy. Up till then I had been having a very good day just wandering around watching my DH as he filled up the fountain jug with water and then he switched it on for me. I helped him lots of times but sometimes I just lay on the grass and watched him, but then my MH tried to spoil it. But she didn't manage it 'cos the mower wouldn't start. Oh I shouldn't smile, but I did, and for me that was the (very) good news.

I did feel sorry for the old dear, but just for a second and then it passed. She was annoyed 'cos she was all ready to go and wanted to give her little legs some real exercise, but the old boy has promised he will try again tomorrow, so tonight I am searching for my spell book to see if I can remember how to keep it not working. Oh, I am awful! But lovely with it!

I haven't been inside much at all today and because the weather has been quite good, the window has been left open for me to come in just whenever I feel like it. Sometimes I come in but just sit on the window sill and look out so that I can see if my DH is doing anything that I can help him with and then I spring into action and with one beautiful flying leap, I am right beside him and it always makes him smile.

I love the Spring time and especially when it never gets dark and I can stay out nearly all night, but I hate it when the lawn mower spoils it for me,although I do like lying on the grass when it is all short and lovely. I just wish there was another way of cutting it. I did suggest that maybe a couple of my sheep friends could come in an eat it, but unfortunately it goes into them at one end as nice green grass and comes out the other end as, well, as something not very nice and my humans don't want that. And neither do I.

So I guess I will just have to compromise and lie down somewhere quiet whenever my MH is playing with the mower. Ho hum. Life is sometimes not easy at all!.

I hope you like this picture that my MH took when she was busy writing a letter today and I was sitting watching her and helping her. I like sitting up there and I can stay there for ages just watching and thinking ---- especially about how to get rid of the lawn mower. Hee hee

Quite a Day

You will be happy to know that I have some news for you today. I was out until four o'clock this morning! All by my adorable little self until it was nearly morning time, but I was happy and safe---just a wee bit tired.

I had had a very good night sitting on my MH's knee then going out to play for a while just before she went to bed, but I was back in to make sure she was fine and I cuddled up beside her until she went to sleep and then I asked my DH if I could go out to play and of course he agreed and opened the door for me. Out I went into the night and the long grass and I was a happy, happy little puss. I played and played and hunted an explored and it was brilliant fun. I heard my DH whistle for me and I ignored him, I heard him shout for me but I ignored him and do you know what he did? He went to bed!!!

I know he was tired, and he explained to me this morning that he only meant to lie down for a little while and then get up again and get me in, but he falled asleep. Oh dear. That was bad enough, but then my MH wakened up at four o'clock and discovered I wasn't beside her where I usually am so she went all over the house looking for me and even though the poor old thing was still half asleep, it dawned on her that I was outside, so she ran to the door and called for me and I shooted into my house as quickly as these adorable little paws could take me where I got the biggest cuddle ever before she gave me something to eat and then we snuggled up together and went to sleep. I will not tell you what she said to my DH. After all, this is a family blog!! Hee hee

I was perfectly fine though, and I have had a very good day 'cos the weather hasn't been too bed so I have been out a lot and when I went inside again I lay in my wee hoose and that made my humans smile 'cos I haven't been in it for ages and today I have been in it about half a dozen times. My MH thinks I am a funny little puss but I just like to give all my seats a try.

Me and my MH went into the gym ans then we played on the grass for a while and I ran and ran all over the place which was really good fun. I am now back in my wee hoose having a sleep before I go outside later on. However, I think I will go home tonight when I hear my DH whistle. I don't fancy two late nights.

It's not too good for a little puss.

A no news day

That's what today has been. A good day, but a day with no news for you at all. Both my humans were at home with me and that is always good. My DH was still working in our greenhouse getting all his plants ready and of course he needed my help, so I wandered in and out of our greenhouse with him while my MH was playing with her vacuum cleaner and her dusters. I still don't like that machine, but if it keeps the old dear happy, then I am OK with that.

I think I am becoming quite a clever little puss 'cos every time I went into my house, my MH was having a rest and so I was able to sit on her knee while she stroked my adorable little lugs and talked to me. I was just a teeny bit naughty today when she was making some more of her friendship bracelets, but I think it was just high jinks on my part and not badness at all. How could this adorable little Squeak ever be bad or naughty? Anyway, I suppose you will want to know what I was doing.

Well, when she is doing her bracelets she has to put all the threads on the table so that she can measure them and then cut sixteen bits all the same size. This means she has to concentrate and she was thinking so hard that she didn't see me sneak up onto the seat of the chair that sits under the table and every time a bit of thread just happened to come my way I tried to catch it and the first time I did that, my poor old MH got a bit of a fright, but after that she called me a monkey and told me not to be naughty. Did I listen? Of course I did. Did I do what she told me. NO!!

Eventually I got a bit fed up and wandered into my kitchen where I noticed the sun was shining on another one of my chairs, so I sat there and was lovely and cosy and I think I must have nodded off for a while 'cos the next thing I knew was that my MH was on her way out for a while and she didn't take me with her. This annoyed me for a second but then I just settled down on the couch and had another sleep until she came back and cuddled me as she told me where she had been.

I took her round to the greenhouse to show her what we had been doing and she said she would take some pictures for you when me and my DH decide it is all ready. I think that might be quite soon. It just depends on how quickly the old boy works.

I might need to push him a wee bit, but we'll see. :-))
