A wee bit better...

.. or as they say here on Graemsay a peedie bit better. There were lots of heavy rain showers, but the wind was better, so I was able to go out lots of times for little trips round my garden. When it is wet, I go out the front window and head straight under our barbecue thingy 'cos I can get some shelter there and the bird feeder is beside me so I can watch and listen to my birdie friends as they are having their dinner. Another good thing about sheltering there is that with just one little jump I can be back on my window sill and then right back into my living room.

My humans had lots of time for me today 'cos my MH doesn't do any housework on a Friday so there is peace and quiet in my house and there is always a knee for me whenever I want one. And another brilliant thing about getting outside is coming back in again 'cos every time I comed home I was a wee bit cold and my MH lifted me up and cuddled me warm again and of course I loved that. I am a lucky puss!

I also had great fun playing with the string when my DH came back from the pier at lunch time. We played in my kitchen for a long time and I loved it, and then when we had finished, I left the humans putting all the messages away and then I had a sleep in my wee hoose until dinner time. As soon as I had finished eating, I was off out into the rain again, but just for a wee while and then I hammered on the window till my MH let me in and cuddled me dry.

And where am I now? Back in my wee hoose having another snooze until it is out time later on. I think I have a very good life and I just LOVE it! I am looking forward to my weekend and I hope you have a good weekend too.

What a Day!

The awful weather started last night, but it didn't keep me in. No,not one little bit! I have my routine and no little breeze or drop of rain will spoil it for me! Oh, no indeed! Mind you, it did take me three attempts and one rather soggy MH before I finally ventured out into the weather. Oops, sorry MH. However, I finally made it and scooted out into the dark and the weather and I headed straight to the big shed where I watched the awful rain from there.

It was cold and miserable but I needed the fresh air and to be honest, the thought of running across the wet grass in the wind and pouring rain to get back into my house, did not appeal to me one little bit. I was just wondering if I could find a wee space in the big shed to settle down for the night when I saw my porch light going on and my DH was calling for me. So I had a very quick debate---stay in the dry or scoot home in the wet? I thought about what I would find if I went home---a lovely cosy knee to sit on---and before you could say 'Squeak is adorable' I was flying across the grass and straight into my kitchen. Yippee!!

The weather today certainly wasn't any better, but still I managed a couple of short trips outside. I spent most of the day either sitting with my MH or having a snooze in my wee hoose but now that I am sitting on my window sill I can hear that the wind is not just so bad now so I shall have another short nap and then I shall head out into the weather later on and see what is happening.

I shall let you know tomorrow.

A wee bit better...

... but not a lot! The wind wasn't just as bad today but it has rained the whole day and every time I have gone out, I have been a wet little puss and have had to ask my MH to dry me when I come in again. I like getting dried 'cos it always ends with a cuddle.

I have been in and out for lots of little times and I think I will need to get some exercise again tonight because my little weather man friend says there is going to be a very naughty gale on my island tomorrow so I think we will all be staying indoors.

I got a surprise this afternoon 'cos my MH asked me if I wanted to go out to play with her, but I'm afraid I made her a bit sad, 'cos I said no. I discovered that she was going into my garden to bring in all our summer ornaments and she wanted me to help her, but I was very comfortable lying on the back of my couch, so I didn't go. However, while I was lying on the couch, I noticed her in the front garden and I felt sorry that I had said no, so I nipped out of the window and plopped down beside her and that made her very happy. It was raining, but we didn't mind and she talked to me all the time telling me what she was doing and I did a wee bit of sniffing as she was working and it was good fun.

When we were finished, we had a seat together on my couch until the childrens came for their guitar lessons. I am not frightened any more when they come and I am even beginning to like their playing 'cos it is not just as sore on my adorable little lugs, so it was fine. AND--all the little childrens love me and every week J. asks my MH if he can take me home and every week she says 'No' and that makes me feel very happy indeed.

I know J. thinks I am adorable but my MH loves me MILLIONS and she would never part with me. And I love her too, so that is good, sure it is?

Are you sitting comfortably?

.....then I shall begin. I have a story for you, and this story shows just what a brave little puss I am. So here goes.

The weather today on my little island has been dreadful. I don't know what has happened, but all the good weather has disappeared and winter has suddenly arrived and brought the wind and the rain with it. It has been so bad, that I didn't get out at all the en-tire day and my DH says if it is like this tomorrow, he is staying home with me and my MH.

My humans didn't go out either although my DH did have a quick run to the greenhouse for something he needed. He had to fight with the wind to get there, but coming back was much quicker 'cos the wind helped him although he nearly blew right past the door! Hee hee

Anyway, I spent most of the day sleeping on various beds and surfaces and I have found a new place to curl up and that's on top of one of our printers 'cos it is nice and warm and I can watch the old dear when she is working on her computer. However, after dinner I decided that I really needed to get out for some fresh air so I asked the old dear to open the door and when she did, all the bad weather blew into my porch, so I turned very quickly and scooted back into my living room. I shall not tell you what she said!

Well, on the third asking, I decided that perhaps I should go out and off I went. Now, as soon as these adorable little paws hit the outside, the rain came pouring down in sheets. I kid you not my dear friends it could not have been any worser and there was I--out in it all. Oh dear I did feel so sad. However, I noticed that the big shed was open so I scurried as quickly as possible towards that, and in I went. I am a bit afraid of this big shed, 'cos you may remember that I got locked in there one day for ever, nearly!

Now, my humans didn't know where I was and they were worried 'cos it was pouring and the wind was howling and a while later I heard my DH calling for me but I didn't move and he went inside again. Then later on, my MH called for me and she spent so long at the door that by the time she went inside again she was soaked, but still I didn't let her know where I was and she was a big bit worried, and I am sorry, but it was too wet for me.

Another while later and I heard my MH calling for me and this time I decided that I was 'Brave Squeak' so I gathered up all my intrepidness and raced towards her faster that I have ever run before. I bounced over the grass, straight through my fence, right across my garden and into my porch where my MH lifted me up and cuddled me 'cos she was so pleased to see me again.

But the strange thing was---the old dear was wetter than me! She had stood at the door so long that she was nearly ringing, but I had run so fast that the rain couldn't catch me. Phew!

I don't think I shall go out again tonight---but on the other paw!! Watch this space!

Monday Again

Wow. How quickly my week has gone! It seems just like minutes since it was last Monday. My MH told me that is a sign that I am getting old. Oh dear, I thought I was still a kitten, but I guess I am getting a wee bit older.

Anyway. It is Monday again and since my humans are creatures of habit, the day was much the same as every other Monday with my DH nipping off to the Cat Shop and my MH running round my house with her vacuum cleaner and her dusters. And me? Well, my days are not just as organised as theirs are. Once I have had my breakfast and my little drop of milk from my MH's cereal I see what the weather is doing and then I decide what to do. See?

So, after I had my breakfast and my milk, I nipped up onto my window sill and saw that the weather on my little island was still good, so I purred a 'cheerio' to the old dear and then I nipped out into the big wide world to see what was happening this Monday, and I liked what I found.

There are cows in the field in front of my house and sheeps at the back, so there was plenty of company for me whenever I wanted, and I knew that if I was needing a cuddle, I could always find the old dear and she would have one waiting for me. So I knew my day was going to be a good one. I wandered through the fields just having a wee sniff at lots of interesting things and it was while I was in mid-sniff I saw my MH taking her washing out to hang it up and I raced across the field to meet her and it made her smile when I took one of my very special leaps through the fence and landed with a 'plop' in my garden. I raced towards her and then ran up the clothes pole while she stood and watched me and then I jumped down beside her and purred as she stroked me.

And that is how my day went. In and out and in and out, but I had a great time and I was outside when my DH comed home so I ran to meet him too and that made him happy. I do like it when I can make them smile.

A Lovely Sunday

We have all had a very good day in my house. One of our lazy days which we all like so much. My MH didn't do very much at all and my DH did a wee bit if tidying up outside with my help, of course! The weather wasn't too bad although a wee bit colder than the other days so I was quite happy nipping in and out whenever I felt like it and I knew that whenever I went inside again, I could find my MH and have a seat and a cuddle, so I thought my day couldn't get any perfecter.

But I was wrong! I had decided to have a snooze on one of my beds and I was in the middle of a lovely dream when I heard my friend S. coming in my house, so I ran into the living room to see her and I got lots more cuddles. I like when she comes to see me and she likes seeing me too.

I am going to have a rest now and then I think I shall have a wander outside before bedtime, but it will depend on the weather 'cos it has been raining and it is a bit colder now, so I will have to make a decision later on.

But no matter what I decide, I have had a very good Sunday and I hope you have had a good day too.

A Longer Message

I was a bit lonely last night when my humans went away out, but between you and me, I was quite happy that the window was shut 'cos it was wet and windy and I wouldn't have been going out anyway. However, I did manage out for a while when they comed home but it was a rather wild night and I didn't really enjoy it. AND, it was very dark! I didn't stay out too long and as soon as I went in I plonked my adorable little body on my MH's knee and she told me all about the night they had had.

A friend of my MH is a music teacher and she brought nine growed up childrens to play a concert for all the peoples on my island and they were great. There were nine fiddle players, and accordionist and a keyboard player and they played lots and lots of tunes which everybody loved. There was a break for supper and then some dancing before they had to go away on the boat again, but my humans said they had a super time, and I am happy for them.

We have all had a very good day and my humans have been a bit lazy and with me all the time and I liked that. My MH tooked this picture of me when I was having a snooze and we are sure you will like it. I was cuddling my wee moose in my wee hoose and when my MH saw me, she said 'aaww' and she smiled.

Maybe you will do the same?
